  • Julia Buhrle (Oxford) will present a lecture on twentieth-century choreographer, John Cranko. Sponsored by DANSOX. John Cranko (1927-1973) was a South African born ballet dancer and choreographer with the Royal Ballet and the Stuttgart Ballet. His most famous “literary” ballets include Romeo and Juliet (1962), with music by Prokofiev, and The Taming of the Shrew (1969). Drinks reception after the event.   • Elizabeth Klett, Linda McJannet, Amy Rodgers, and Emily Winerock will present a panel, “Kinetic Shakespeare,” for the Shakespeare Association of America, Atlanta, 2017.
  • Linda McJannet presented a plenary lecture at “O! had I but followed the Arts: Celebrating William Shakespeare 1616-2016),”  a conference sponsored by ULICES, the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies, in Lisbon, December 14, 2016. Her talk was entitled “Shakespeare and Physical Theatre: The Adaptations of John Farmanesh-Bocca and Not Man Apart.”
